North Fork - Touch of Venice or Porto Bello

Heading to the North Fork in a couple weeks and we already have reservations at North Fork Table and Luce & Hawkins.
We were thinking Italian for our 3rd night and have never been to Touch of Venice or Porto Bello.
Which would you recommend over the other? And why?

Didn't enjoy Touch of Venice @ their old location. Their sauce was not tasty. I thought it was canned and their cheese were sub par.
We liked Porto Bello @ their old location but have not tried the new spot.
You should enjoy NFT. We had two awful experiences @ Hawkins when Schaudel owned it. I hear good reviews for the new owner.

    Comtesse Therese
    North Fork Oyster Co
Love Lane Kitchen, not as fancy as the rest but great food

Never went to T of V at the old location, but went to the Cutchogue location this summer. I liked it a lot. Its a bit pricey, especially for pastas, but the portions are generous. I had the clams over pasta with, I think it was sopressata? At any rate, the clams were impeccably fresh, and there were about a dozen of them. I will be going there again, since its within a mile of my house, and most of the time I'm there without a car...my kids have them. I went to Porto Bello at one of their old locations, but it was so long ago that I can't remember anything other than liking it. Besides, it was a party, so I guess it wouldn't have been the normal menu.

        Thanks for the recs.

We have done NFT a few times and loved it. We have also done Luce & Hawkins since Chef Luce took over and it was great. That's why we are making return visits during this trip!

Comtesse Therese is on our list of places to go soon.

We have done Frisky Oyster but not since the chef took over operations; we always thought it was good but overly pricey (and trying a little to hard to unnecessarily be NY-city-ish.

We liked Jamesport Manor and we have tried Love Lane a couple times for breakfast, though not dinner.

I've heard about the Riverhead Project, but we are staying in Greenport and don't want to drive that far on this visit.

Never tried Bayview Inn - - - I'll have to look into that.

When you hit Jamesport on Rte 25/Main Road (you will pass Cliffs Elbow Room on the right coming from the west) make a right at the light (BTW cheapest gas out here on that corner if you need some) and go to the end of that block.

Got it! Haven't been down that block. We go to Grana most Friday evenings which is right by Cliffs. Thanks...will try Bayview Inn.

It's past Jedediah Hawkins, so you know you're on the right road. Hope you love it as much as we do! It looks really old fashioned but the food is as good as anywhere.

Thanks Coll. Good landmark, as we 've been to JH's but not gone past it.

Another good bet for breakfast is Jen's Main St Cafe in Southold. Across from Rothman's.
O'Malley's on the North Road is always reliable, good and open late. Great burgers!
If you don't want to go too upscale try the Chowder Pot Pub next to the ferry. It's one of our favorite places for al fresco dining. They make a nice lobster roll (special)
We still like Frisky Oyster. The new owner does a great job. Pricey, yes, but worth it.

Jen's is one of our favorite places on the North Fork. Love it!!

I like Touch of Venice. We have not been there since they moved to the new location in Cutchogue, the former site of "Fisherman's Rest" on Main Road.
