Lunch with teenage boys in Santa Monica (around the pier) without going to the pier!

Any recommendations for lunch with 7 teenage boys within walking distance of the pier?
I really don't like anything on the pier itself, but was hoping to hear about some good food hopefully with a view of the water that's casual enough for teens, with a menu they'll enjoy. We'll be a party of 9 and we'll be coming from the Segway place on Ocean Ave. I see Rusty's Surf Ranch, Big Dean's Ocean Cafe and Bruno's. Any feedback on those places as well as any other recs?
Thank you so much.

How about Back to the Beach. Casual place, good salads, burgers and sandwiches on the sand.

Good choice, but I have a weird feeling that they close after the summer months. I'm not sure.

A family friend's two boys work there as busboys and for some reason I think they told me their work ends when BTTB closes and that time might have passed.

I could be wrong, worth a phone call or email, but that's my recollection.

I checked. They are open until 8 pm. Starting sometime in October, they close at 3 pm. It would be a perfect choice, I would say.

Thanks for checking ... I (gladly) stand corrected.

Bruno's is pretty good. I moved away so I haven't been for a while, but their pasta and pizza was good in a neighborhood, red-checked table cloth sort of way. I remember really liking the Caesar Salad and my son was a fan of the bolognese.

          One caution: it's cash only.

You could always do the dining deck at Santa Monica Place. Plenty of food options at the food court and the Market, as well as the restaurants. And the view is great.

My teenage sons love Unami Burger on 5th Street inside Fred Segal. You can all sit outside on the patio (but no ocean view) and have some tasty burgers like their Manly Burger with
beer-cheddar cheese, smoked-salt onion strings and bacon lardons
