Enoteca Drago on North Canon. Nice bar not too crowded.

      Sotto
Dark, candles, good wine & mixed drinks, great food, valet parking.
Can be loud, but, if the dates going well, you can use the excuse to lean closer?

Chaya is a good choice. Nic's is a bit loud and crowded.

Bouchon Bistro on Canon... great people watching, and great bites if hunger strikes or the date goes well enough.

Crescent Hotel - love the outside patio for drinks.. then you're walkable to food if desired.

Bazaar/SLS. If the date doesn't work out, head over to the bar.

Porta Villa on Canon in Beverly Hills has a nice lounge and good food. The Blvd. in the Beverly Regent Hotel is also nice for cocktails and has food options.

Consider Trattoria Amici on Santa Monica and Doheny.. Nice ambiance and good food. Casual and comfortable. Amici Brentwood is similar but not as cozy and no patio.

Amici does not have a full bar or even a bar area. Food is good though.

Amici Brentwood has a bar. Alas, they only have a license for beer and wine.

                including valet.

Never thought valet would be an issue but... I guess everyone wants to "walk you to your car".

Hi Tony--I was the OP on the thread that you linked to and YummyInMyTummy's comment there is spot on as I've found things can get awkward standing in front of your car w/a guy you're not into, and for safety reasons it's better, albeit more expensive.

Hi Yummy--great questions in this post and very helpful info from the replies. Please let us know what restaurants work out well and which don't so other daters (like me!) can add the info to our knowledge base!

I want to be able to hear the conversation.

                    I want casual, but nice.

I would appreciate a nice wine by the glass option to a mixed drink. That said, I do like a mixed drink.

If things are going well, maybe a good food option.

                    TIA
