Dinner for 10 or 12 people

We will be celebrating two big birthday's this year and mother-in-law/mother wants to take the family out for dinner. Would like to stay under $800 for the whole shebang but know this might not be reasonable. Obviously, if we could bring own wine that would be great but it isn't a deal breaker. One member is Kosher but we can work around that (pasta, salad, fish). Any ideas, folks?

$800 minus tax and 20%, divided by 12 people, leaves only about $50pp for wine/cocktails AND food. One of the big deciding factors will be how much drinking you intend to do.

Can you maybe callpark how much you want to spend on just food, per person? And what cuisine? Sounds like you're thinking American or Italian given the kosher person's restrictions? It's much easier to make a recommendation that way.

$800 for food. Yes, Italian always works as they are usually accomodating. A seafood place would also fit the bill.

John Dory Oyster Bar Chef's Table is $100/pp.
Obviously, not a good choice for your Kosher guest, as many of the dishes feature shellfish, but not all. Chef might be willing to help out with extra servings of those fish that qualify as kosher.
