Red Rock Bistro? Yea or Nay?
WOW! Chowhound has come of age since I used it last 5 or 6 years ago.
Was thinking about sending a friend a gift cert to Red Rock Bistro in Swampscott. 5 or 6 years ago, this was a nice restaurant with decent food at not too expensive prices. How is the quality today? Gift worthy?

Went there with Mrs. for, I believe Valentine's day, last year. As I remember we had the prix fixe menu with wine pairings. Your description as "a nice restaurant with decent food at not too expensive prices" was exactly our opinion. That, combined with excellent service and the wonderful views, made it a very nice evening. You could do a lot worse than sending you friend there.

I had lunch there with a Groupon and was not impressed. I used to go there a lot a couple of years back and it has definitely gone down hill. Eating outside with the view was still nice.
