4Gats

Any recent posts about this restaurant? A person who had been to Barcelona on a trip in 2006 recommended it to me and the newest post I can find on here is from about a year ago. He said it was a good place to get a lot of good food for about 30 euro but that may have been what it was back in 2006.

  1. Nothing as recent as 1991 during my first trip to Barcelona. For a drink at the bar to soak in the history and atmosphere, probably. Anything else would be a waste of your euros and time. If one ask if the food has improved since, my Barcelona friend would say NO but they have never been there and wouldn't admit it if they did.

    1. Haven't been since 2009. Loved the room, food was fine. I would go maybe for a weekend lunch, not a big deal dinner by any means (for that...... Tickets if you can get in, Commerc24 or Cinq Sentits (all require reservation, different policies). At 4Gats you will definitely be amongst tourists, but so what. Have the fideo.

Good to know and thank you both. Yeah I've been combing this site and finally got my hands on the Discovering Spain book. I do see a lot of the same suggestions for Commerc24, Cinq Sentits, Tickets, Tapas24 and Commerc24 as well as Hisop, Cal Pep, Quimet i Quimet, Alkimia, Butofiero. We are staying by Le Meridien hotel so most things will be a walk away from Las Ramblas but shouldn't be too bad. It will all depend on where we are when we want to eat and what it is open. Good to know that reservations are a must at these places.

Small clarification, if I may. You WILL need a reservation for most of the names on your list but NOT for Tapac24, Cal Pep or Quimet i Quimet. Those are first-come, first-served. Quimet i Quimet has very limited hours too.
