Within walking distance of Yale Rep Theater ---lots of mediocrity, but is there any REALLY GOOD
Chinese ? Vietnamese ? Thai ? Japanese ? ?

Shouldn't be difficult finding good Asian or any other ethnic food in New Haven. Don't know about walking distance - but Bentara is awesome Malaysian food.

You said "walking distance." Bentara, at Orange & Crown is 6 city blocks (5 down Chapel, 1 across) from Yale Rep. My idea of walkable this time of year on a nice evening.

Thali is one block further. Thali Too, on Broadway, is even closer.
