Melograno - opinions please.....
I dunno if it's on the RW menu, but the mushroom papperdelle at Melograno is great, one of my favorite pastas in town. Ranstead Room is only a little farther than Noble to get cocktails while waiting, or maybe the bar at Tinto for wine and sangria would work if it's not too crowded.
Melograno has been one of my favorites since I moved out here 3 years ago. If you catch the rabbit saddle on a good night (which is of course impossible to predict, but I have ordered it multiple times and have noticed that the plate varies a bit), it's one of my absolute favorite meals in the city. Melograno is also priced very fairly for a BYO (which I guess qualifies as N/A during restaurant week). I've also never been to Salento but I can't speak well enough for Melograno.
The only shame is that, since I'm told they are closed, you won't be able to stop into Noble for a cocktail while you wait for your table.
We haven't been to Salento, but have been to Melagrano four times and have always enjoyed it. Just went there over Labor Day weekend with a party of 12, and everything was impeccable. We did have a reduced menu to choose from because of the size of our party, but everyone was happy.
