ISO Romantic Sushi Place in LA

Hi there!

Anybody have recommendations for a good sushi restaurant that has a more romantic atmosphere for quiet, intimate conversation in LA?

My search for "romantic" "sushi" was fruitless.

Any help will be much appreciated!

Koi on La Cienega may be what you are looking for (although to get a "quiet" evening there you will have to go early).

Katsuya in Brentwood has a chic/romantic setting and the food is far better than Yamoshiro. Also has a full bar, which is a plus.

Though the quality may have declined somewhat, I think R23 is pretty romantic.

Yamashiro seems like the best choice for what I'm looking for.

I guess the best sushi is eaten from a bar seat with the chef watching.... not very intimate, unless he's your date! ;-)

Bar Hayama on Sawtelle. It has a great outdoor seating area with a nice large fire pit. Make sure you sit outside though as inside is super noisy.

Yamashiro, in terms of setting is an excellent choice. There are walkways outside in the front that are perfect for a little pre or post meal smooch. With a magnificent view. Inside there's that courtyard - which is a perfect and pretty setting for intimate conversation (if only you could meld the the two).

No. it ain't great sushi. That said, I've had sushi there at least 50 times (don't ask) and have never gotten sick. And to be honest, I've only had a few things - I've never put them to the real test for sushi (why bother?)
