For tonight- French, American, Italian, but probably anything else too. Nicer than a burger joint but less nice than Jean Georges. I know it's a wide swath- any favorites?
Beyoglu - 81st and Third - delicious Turkish
Luke's Lobster - 242 E. 81st St. - off of 2nd Ave.
Vermicelli - Vietnamese - 2nd Ave between 77th & 78th

Good ideas, esp. Vermicelli. Have you tried Toscano's around there? Way better than it needs to be. Apparently the chef had worked at Nobu.
Beyoglu is good. Also Wa Jeal might work.
Luke's Lobster is great but I wouldn't say it's any nicer than a burger joint.
