Non-chain restaurants near the Willow Grove Mall?

Do any good non-chain restaurants exist near the Willow Grove Mall? Looking for casual type places that I can bring a semi-foodie well-behaved child.

Thanks!

Pho and Beyond is close to the Mall, serving good Vietnamese and Thai Food.
5 minutes up 611 you could go to Iron Abbey which is a gastro pub next to Na Brasa, a brazillian steak house. Noise level will not be a problem there.

You also have Oooka just up 611 which serves good japanese teppanyaki, as well as sushi.

Tortillas is a low key Mexican restaurant on 263 again about five minutes from the Mall.

Semi decent chain on 611 is Bonefish Grill.

+1 for Pho & Beyond, Iron Abbey and Ooka. Haven't been to the others cw recommends.

I am not sure to be honest. I had heard rumors to that effect but haven't been by recently.

A "chain" of 3 local restaurants is Ooka. Easton & Fitzwatertown Rds. Great Japanese and sushi.

FWIW Ooka actually has a fourth restaurant... in California...

I do know that cwdonald. It just didn't seem relevant to the OP's request.

Yep. Pho and Beyond is your best bet. Both my foodie and non-foodie kids like it there, and we are rarely the only ones with kids. It's a nice enough atmosphere that it feels a little special, but still very comfortable and casual.

If you want decent Chinese food, Mandarin Garden in Willow Grove is pretty good. It is owned by Michael Wei who also owns Cin Cin in Chestnut Hill and Yang Ming in Haverford.

Bonnet Lane Restaurant is really kid friendly. It does not look like much from the outside, but their breakfast is fantastic. I have not tried dinner but its on my list...

Pasta Fazool. Not technically in Willow Grove, but close.

We had lunch at Pasta Fazool a few months back and it was really good. you would never think to stop in, its in a pretty dreary shopping center, but the food and service were quite good.

Wow AmblerGirl, I would never in a hundred years have gone into that place (it's right near my house and it's a little scary looking)....but you've never steered me wrong with a rec. I might have to rethink them now!

Do either of you know if they have recovered from the flood? That shopping center got hit hard during Irene and the mini-mart two doors down still looks like it is in bad shape. Pasta Fazool is one of those places we drive by several times a week, but for some reason we never think to go there when we are looking for something new to try.

I too recommend both Pho and Beyond and Mandarin Garden.

Never been to Pasta Fazool, am intrigued. Where is that? Do they serve other dishes besides pasta?

It is in the shopping center at the corner of York Rd. and Warminster/Mill Rd. in Hatboro.
