10/31 it has to be the best meal EVER

muffy0110 Sep 8, 2011 05:13 PM

We are total foodies and have never spend time in this area. I have read several of the recent reviews. I had come up with 3 that people had suggested but none of you in the know did. 1) The Forge 2) Blue Door Fish 3) Atrio ? Are these bad suggestions?

Four of us had a terrible meal and horrible restaurant experience at The Forge back in December and I wrote about it on opentable. I included a private note to the restaurant and my email with specifics but never heard a response from them. Memorable for being very expensive and disappointing. (I, too am originally from Boston)

Was that recent? I only ask in light of the recent poor restaurant review in the Sun Sentinel as well as the fact that they've been on restaurant.com for quite awhile now.

Muffy - sorry the responses to your question have sucked so far. I'm from Boston originally and go back about 4-5 times a year. There are some great restaurants up there and some that I find incredibly overrated. Same thing with down here in Miami.

Is there a particular type of food you are interested in for this dinner? Or a general location (ie South Beach, Miami Beach, Miami proper, North Miami, etc) you would like to dine in? That might help you get a better response.

No offense but your post title "has to be the best meal EVER" is a little off putting. You most likely will not have the meal of your life here but that's not to say you wont find a memorable one.

Thank u all for ur help-honestly if there was a way to close this link I would. I'm going to Texas De Brazil, I have been there several times and know the meal will be gd. And because I thought I could eat there in Orlando, but it can't be worked in with the several food and wine events we have already booked. I wanted to try something new in a place I have only ever driven thru on the way to Key West, not this time I guess.

I would recommend Naoe, but under the circumstances, I think Texas de Brazil is a better choice for you.
