Just got word that after 22 years, the Cafe at Rosemont in Stockton, NJ has closed. Such a shame, will fondly remember many cozy evenings there with friends. A little gem of a place. R.I.P.

The Cafe at Rosemont was seized by the state of NJ for nonpayment of sales tax. Although it initially seemed that the cafe would reopen, their web site confirms that it is permanently closed. I for one shall miss it greatly.

Btw, the cafe was in Rosemont, not Stockton.

Ambrose, No offense meant by the Stockton reference........ just a little easier to identify the general area.

Certainly no offense taken! I'm somewhat of a stickler when it comes to restaurant locations. A couple of years ago I wandered around Metuchen, NJ (fairly small town) trying to locate a restaurant that a friend had recommended. Never did find it because the place turned out to be near Metuchen and certainly not within walking distance. :-))

Of course, the location of the Cafe at Rosemont is now of academic interest only.

You're right about the Cafe being a gem. It was one of my favorite Sunday brunch spots and I'll really miss it.
