40th Girls Long Weekend
We are heading down to New Orleans for September 22 - 27 to celebrate a few of the girls turning 40 and we're looking for some suggestions of things to do, places to eat and over all just some general ideas to have a great time celebrating this milestone.
We love live music, enjoy doing things the locals might do (we caught a roller derby game the last time we were there), and love good food!! We'll probably want to go somewhere really nice for dinner one night, other than that the slate is wide open.
If you're staying in or near the quarter you might want to go to a place nearby that you can walk to so that you can enjoy plenty of wine without driving! Bayona is wonderful for a special occasion, as is K-Paul's. In spite of it being touristy, every morsel I've ever eaten there has been delicious. Eat is a moderate place with good New Orleans food. Cafe Amelie is also more moderate and has a lovely courtyard. Both have brunch. Mr. B's is a good, solid fun restaurant for a group. Enjoy your time in town!

If you want to combine good food and entertainment, head to the Marigny and check out Three Muses or Mimi’s. DBA on Frenchman is another good club for your age group sans the food. The weather should be nice so enjoy the trip.

Laurie, here are a few to Google to look at menus: Herbsaint, Dante's Kitchen, Martinique and Clancy's. So many to choose from! Get a po-boy from Parkway or Mahony's. Good cocktails at Cure and Bouligny Tavern. Have fun, let me know if you need a single male to chaperone you! (Half-kidding)
