ISO vietnamese crepes in GTA

hi hounds,

i had a delicious vietnamese crepe at star noodle in maui. it was so good that i went back again ... i generally don't like repeating restaurants and/or menu items when on vacation because i like to try something new.

the crepe was super crispy, filled with pork, shrimp (coconut-scented?), beansprouts ... and it was all accompanied by butter lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, mint, thai basil, cilantro, and a dipping sauce.

any recommendations on where to get this in the GTA? west-end preferred.

  1. Ha Long Bay on Eglinton west does a crispy coconut crepe with chicken and shrimp.

    1. Its called banh xeo in vietnamese. Its a standard menu item in most vietnamese restaurants in Toronto and one of my favourites! Golden Turtle on Ossington has a good rendition, as does Pho Mi Asia up by Keele and Wilson.

Pho Phuong, Golden Turtle and Pho Hung definitely have it, as does Xe Lua and the place next door to Pho Dau Bo up at Finch and Weston.

I've had it at a couple places on Spadina but they usually come out kind of soggy. Only once at Bun Saigon did I get the excellent crispness (but not again).
