Real BarBQ in Ann Arbor?
Does anyone know the deal with a place called Real BarBQ possibly setting up shop in Ann Arbor?
A friend told me about one of their other locations and a quick look at their website had me drooling, so I checked their other locations. It has an Ann Arbor location listed as ‘coming soon’ but the location that is listed, if I’m not mistaken, has recently been transformed into a 7Eleven (none too impressed). Given that Satchels seems to be the best place in town (and it is pretty decent), I was hoping a little competition might ratchet up the quality of all surrounding BBQ.
Also, I was wondering if Real BarBQ were the same guys who sold BBQ out of the same parking lot during UofM games in 2010. I checked for them this past Saturday but it was just a lonely 7Eleven parking lot. I had never gotten the parking lot BBQ, but it did smell good.
Any info is appreciated.

I know this...for the Canton location they went and hired a BBQ circuit smoke hound. The guy was a friend of mine on Facebook before he got hired. I know they started downriver and have a few other locations open, but I have yet to get into one. I am happy though that they are not just filling the locations jobs with teenagers and a list of instructions. They look as if they want to do it right.
