Magical Finds in LA

Last night, I had the good fortune of stumbling upon a little gem on Sawtelle. Restaurant 2117 is owned by a Japanese wine freak and is completely unassuming, ridiculously delicious and understated. Even in a strip mall. The owner and his wife are wine lovers, as are all the patrons. Everyone sitting at a marble tables and wooden chairs have brought (or bought) incredible bottles of wine. And... it's cheap. Grilled Quail. Wild mushrooms with goat cheese and truffle salt, Kobe short ribs Thai style with spicy lemon fish sauce. I can't believe this place isn't stuffed every night. Wine lovers - get there. And get there fast. What's your favorite little magical find in LA?
