Lers Ros Venison, Quail??
Just perused menu. Have not eaten here.
Game is so rare on menus in SF (pun sorta intended), I wondered if anyone had tried it or, for that matter, the quail.
Thanks.

We had quail at Lers Ros last weekend and thought it the least successful of the 6-7 dishes we had. The spice was welcome, but the quail itself was so difficult to eat (it's cut into chunks, bone-in) it was hardly worth the effort, like eating chicken wings with very little meat on them.
The big winners were the trout and the pork belly, which doesn't help if you're looking for game.

Venison was kind of dry, wouldn't order it again.

I found the quail hard to eat, and not all that exciting compared to other dishes. It tied with the frog legs for least tasty and interesting (prepared in the same style apparently) in my last visit with about 7 people ordering and sharing.

Bodega Bistro, two blocks from Lers Ros, has a quail appetizer almost everyone (but me) likes.
