I liked my meal at Blue Plate quite a bit and have been meaning to go back. Nothing earth-shattering, but well prepared and the menu had something for everyone in my diverse group.

Solid upscale comfort food with interesting wines by the glass. It's a bit heavy on the grease.
I tend to stick to appetizers and sides: squid, goat cheese mac and cheese, brussels sprouts, any kind of roasted meats.

ditto on the notion of selecting from the appetizers.

it's been years but I always liked the food - very down to earth, well-cared-for food. Nice space, with lovely little garden in the back.
