Birthday outing recommendations
Hi all,
Looking for any recommendations for a birthday outing for a friend for next Friday night or Saturday night:
-Dinner/appetizers/drinks (think: margaritas)
-Group of 10+
-Casual to snappy casual (not super formal)
-Location: West-NW suburbs...although I think we would definitely travel to Minneapolis if there are some good recs.
Thoughts?

if margaritas are a must, bar abilene (uptown) would seem to fit all the requirements. i have not been there in many years, but it has lots of margarita variations. if margaritas are not a must, bar abilene would not be my first choice, and fwiw, it got mixed reviews in the following chowhound thread:

Barrio springs immediately to mind. Easily the best margaritas in town, and a very fun and smart menu of mostly small plates. Think dressed up Latin street food. Locations in both downtown Minny and Lowertown St. Paul, but for hip and fun atmosphere the original in Mpls is far superior (but also tougher to get a table. Definitely call ahead first).
There's also a watered down version that's probably closer to you near 50th and France in Edina, but I would heartily recommend the spot downtown if they can fit you in.
