Suggestions? 2 days in October
Will be in town for 2 days, here's what we're thinking so far and looking for suggestions/advice...
Saturday:
Lunch - Shake Shack, or ramen shop?
Dinner - Gramercy Tavern, Modern Bar Room or Untitled
Sunday
Lunch - thinking late lunch at EMP if available on Sunday
Dinner - later dinner at Babbo, Locanda Verde, Torrisi
We don't drink, but looking at $300/day on food, and we aren't picky about location....open to just about everything except chinese and sushi, we get enough of both...
Thanks!

Where are you coming from? Is there not good ramen at home?
NYC has a lot of good non-sushi Japanese restaurants, so keep that in mind. And even though you eat a lot of Chinese at home, do you have Fujian cuisine or a place like Xian Famous Foods available to you?
I might do:
Sat lunch: Ippudo
Sat dinner: Bar Room at the ModernSunday lunch: A big New York-y brunch? Russ & Daughters? Katz's Deli? Pizza?
Sunday dinner: Either Babbo or Locanda Verde (book as soon as you are able to for your dates)Babbo books one month in advance to the numerical date. Today is Friday Sept 2 and you can book Oct 2. LV books 30 days in advance.

re: liger
I'd look into Xian Famous Foods since I don't think there is anything similar in Toronto. They also have great hand pulled noodles with cumin lamb.
http://xianfoods.com/Babbo and Locanda Verde are both excellent, and a bit loud/crowded. LV is a bit more louder and hip, with high ceilings, dark woods. Babbo is in an old townhouse and a bit less hip, but the food is still very good.
I've not done Colicchio & Sons, but I love Craft.

Just a few notes- Babbo reservations fill up pretty quick, so make sure you call a month ahead from the date you want to make sure you get it.
Torrisi is the opposite problem- they don't take reservations, so getting a late dinner there specifically is hard to plan, particularly if you are doing other things in the afternoon. You basically have to line up there right at 5:30 to make a reservation for later in the evening.

I don't believe EMP is open for weekend lunch.
I haven't been to Gramercy Tavern or Untitled, but I definitely recommend The Modern Bar Room. The Roasted Long Island Duck Breast, Spice-Dusted Organic Squab, and the Beignets were wonderful.

We weren't impressed with our dinner about 3 weeks ago at Gramercy Tavern. Modern Bar Room is much better.
Babbo over Locanda Verde. Definitely both Babbo and LV over Torrisi, imo.
