Kosher Subway in Skokie closed
And another kosher Chicago eatery bites the dust!

"Yes, it's official. Skokie Kosher Subway has officially closed it's doors today. Unfortunately, Walgreens bought the strip mall where we were located. We considered moving locations, but it took us 2 years to find this location and we did not want to go through the process again. We did not expect it to happen so soon, but another Subway has purchased our franchise and was eager to close the deal. We are so thankful to all of you who have been so supportive!
Shabbat Shalom!" -
So I guess the Subway grand experiment is close to an end. Are there only ones left in Cleveland, Baltimore and LA?

Not unpredictable. Subway is not a goal a Kosher restaurant should aspire to. You won't get non-Kosher customers coming in for $10+ foot-longs and eventually the Kosher crowd will realize that they're getting a substandard sandwich. For the price, a burger at Ken's or nearly any sandwich at Srulie's is ultimately a much better meal option. It's unfortunate, but it was not a long-lived option.
