Vegetarian/Vegan - Detroit Metro

We have a family member visiting this weekend that is a vegan. I know of a few places that seem to be vegetarian friendly but not so much vegan.

I am certainly willing to do some cooking but don't want to spend my entire weekend in the kitchen. Any suggestions would be appreciate. I know this topic has been discussed before but thought I might renew the conversation in case there were any additions to consider.

We live in Northern Royal Oak and are willing to drive quite a ways for good food. We have two nights planned so far... Inn Season (Boagman is cringing) and Seva in Ann Arbor. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Yesterday's post on Eat It Detroit gave a very helpful list of vegetarian and vegan dining options in Detroit. Just wanted to pass it along...

You're welcome. I posted the link on your thread from last summer too, but the mods must have removed it for some reason. Glad you found it anyway! :)

I just took a peek at Sweet Lorraine's menu and it looks like several items are vegan or could be with minimal fuss; leave the parmesan off the broccoli for example--but why :)

        Jack,

I'll second Boagman's recommendation re: NeeHee's Indian street food.
        Big flavors, but fast-food ambiance.

Yes, Jack...ISC still makes me cringe and wince. Glad you like it, though!

As for your request: Neehee's in Canton is still just plain *awesome*. Worth the drive.

Just checked: Neehee's offers more than 40 different vegan items...and far more that are vegetarian.
