What's the best red velvet cake in Toronto?

carbqueen8 Aug 31, 2011 06:15 PM

It's my sister's birthday next week, and she's coming in from Seattle, and her favourite cake of all time is red velvet. What are some good places to buy red velvet cake in Toronto? I have only had Dufflet's red velvet cake, and it wasn't that good.

    Uggh, Dufflet.

Short & Sweet on Avenue Rd. does a fantastic red velvet cupcake. Filled with pureed raspberries. Delicious.

Sorry, no cake recs from me :(

+1 on the 'ugh' for Dufflet. Not sure if they were good once (I'm fairly recent to Toronto) but it's total mass chain-style now.

        Welcome to Toronto :)

If it ever was good, I sure don't remember.

OH yea - it was GOOD! And there are still some highlights, like their scones as an example.
