more on pressure cookers and fastcooking.ca

I surfed around and concluded Fagor was the best product for the $. Then, Fastcooking.ca, after I electronically wired $, told me the Fagor was not in stock and sent a long e-mail urging me to buy a more expensive Kuhn Rikon. It feels like a bait and switch and I'd be interested to know if anyone else has had a similar experience with them.

The exact thing just happened to me (and yes, this is almost 2 years after your initial post).

    Fastcooking.ca is a scam.

They sent a pre-canned message saying that the shipment is late, and the best bet is to buy the "superior" product, for twice the price. They also like to go on a little rant about the total cost of ownership, and a bunch of other misleading information, all to push the buyer into getting the more expensive product. This is total bait and switch, and shouldn't be tolerated.

I sell Fagors. My boss bought a KR and then a Fagor. He says he prefers the Fagor. It is not as fiddly. I have a 6 qt and 10 qt. Fagor. Love them.
