In-law visit

My father-in-law is visiting from Chicago in October and wants to treat us to dinner. Any suggestions in Cambridge? Their favorite restaurant in Chicago is Le Colonial (French-Vietnamese fusion) so was considering Blue Ginger in Wellesley but that looks (a) pricey and (b) gets mixed reviews. Made a reservation at Ten Tables but wondering about other places. Thoughts?

For French food I really like Robert Bistro in Needham. Good Prices, large portions.

cambridge has lots to offer. Elephant Walk is french cambodian, which might meet his likes. East by Northeast is modern Asian. Bondir is lovely as is Bergamot, over the border in Somerville. And Rendezvous is always good value.
