Going to Monterey in September for 4 nights with my husband. Planning on one dinner at Passionfish since everyone raves about it. One price fix dinner at Marinus or Aubergine (which one do you prefer?) Need recommendations on the BEST place for raw bar and oysters and the freshest seafood around. (Looking for something similar to Elliot's in Seattle). Please share your recommendations!! Thank you! Also open to suggestions for our 4th dinner!!!

freshest seafood and raw bar would not necessarily be the same place in Monterey. A lot of what is on the menu at Passionfish is local and very fresh, but they don't have a raw bar as such. Indeed, I haven't found a really good raw bar in Monterey. Not sure the situation has changed all that much since I asked the question five or so years ago, when most of the options seem to be on the wharf:

For a raw bar such as Elliot's, you'd have to head to San Francisco. I just don't know of anything similar on the Monterey Peninsula. There is a place in Carmel called A.W. Shucks on the main street (Ocean Ave.) that specializes in oysters on the half shell. It seems to get mixed reviews.
Demetra on Ocean Ave gets rave review for both lunch and dinner. See Trip Advisor. Just a thought for dinner #4.
