Seeking brunch venue for 50 with private room...

The president of my daughter's college is coming to town and is looking to host a brunch for up to 50 alumni/parents/donors. Someplace "nice," with a private room and space for up to 50 people. Any neighborhood will do. Ideas/suggestions??

  1. Probably need to do this at a hotel function room or other event space. Check out the Lotos Club.

    1. Brasserie 8 1/2 - 57th St. between 5th & 6th.

      1. Locanda Verde's private room, if they can afford it.

        1. An alternative approach to seeking a party room would be to contact a small restaurant you like and inquire if they would close it for a private party of 50.

          1. One to check out would be Terrace in the Sky. ( www.terraceinthesky.com) Click on "events" and see if it fits your requirements. It is on the rooftop of a building on the Columbia U campus (w one of the best views on the planet!), and accordingly, they are well prepared to deal with academic functions. Their brunch is terrific, and I suspect your party will go WOW! about the view. Outdoor terrace, but the room is all glass covered. Don't know, of course, what the budget is, but take a look. In any event, please let us all know what do do, and how it all works out.
