Recommendation for birthday dinner in Madrid - no jackets required

Hello all, I am looking for a restaurant centrally located in Madrid to celbrate my boyfriend's birthday. We are in our mid-30s and are adventurous foodies (no dislikes worth mentioning). I'm looking for a fun place to spend a special evening. I offer only 2 additional restrictions -- (1) my boyfriend would rather not have to wear a coat and tie (though we will be going in February, so he'll be wearing a coat of some type), and (2) I'd prefer to keep our bill under 115 euro or so. Any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance!

  1. If you're not specifically looking for Spanish fare I would suggest Sudestana, which serves Pan Asian, would be great for a B'day. We've seen celebrations of this sort or other at a table sometimes when we visited.

No jackets tho' dress nicely, interesting diversified crowd, nice dining atmosphere, good service, nice but small bar area with great drinks and food is delicious.

Dinner for 2, cocktail, and mineral water for the table is about 85 €

This is the link for their restaurant in Buenos Aires <couldn't find link for the one in Madrid> the menu is mostly identical.

    The address in Madrid is......

    Ponzano 85

    Reservations a must - +34 91 533 41 54

If you decide to visit without a reservation you could eat at the bar.

    Enjoy you trip.

Thank you so much for your suggestion, Quimbombo! Would you be able to provide a second restaurant recommendation for a more traditional Spanish meal? We will be in Madrid for 5 nights so I'd like to have a couple reservations and wing the rest.
