Great Weekday Lunch Take-Out?

joond1 Aug 30, 2011 10:09 AM

A question to my fellow Hounds:

At my office, we have our general rotation of solid restaurants within walking distance to frequent during the week. But if I need to bring food back upstairs, I'm getting really sick of the Colony Square food court and Highland Bakery (which, by the way, has been incredibly underwhelming in my recent experiences).

I'm looking for places I can get a great takeout lunch to bring back to work. Can be something as easy and delicious as a great sandwich. Although I work at 14th and Peachtree, I'd be willing to drive a bit since the general idea of takeout is that it's relatively quick.

For example, it kills me that BOCADO isn't open for lunch on weekends, and I haven't been able to try it yet. Does anyone know if they would frown on / if they even do takeout?

How about Super Pan? Thoughts?

Of course, I'd love to hear about anyone else's favorite takeout sandwich / lunch spots.

In the same vein, we ate at Papi's a few weeks ago and I was really impressed. Great Cuban sandwich.

Super Pan is awesome! Definately worth the drive for their pork belly buns.

If you want to drive downtown, Grindhouse burgers are fantastic, but you'd have to go early because the line gets long. Actually, I think I heard they had a new location on Piedmont somewhere, which might be easier than Auburn curb market.
