McCormick & Schmick's - Bethesda location closed: what happened?

I just noticed from the website that this location has closed. The restaurant had been there for a long time and so I'm kind of surprised to see it closed. It seemed to get a fair amount of business. That said, we also always felt that it could have been better managed (less than friendly welcome, inexperienced wait staff, etc.) We also felt in our last visit that the menu choices seemed "tired".

Does anyone know why it closed? It's kind of annoying as we have some unused coupons, though I guess we can use them at another location.

  1. It seems the landlord decided they could do better. http://bethesdamagazine.godengo.net/B...

Cesco Trattoria (on Cordell) is supposed to move in.

Interesting. Thanks for the article link!

    2. Terrible location. Not in the foot traffic of either side of Bethesda. Food was average. Sort of like outback steak, just for seafood

      1. Hmm, that's too bad. I was just thinking it was surprising they could stay open in that location -- kind of between up and lower Bethesda -- for so long. I'm not sure it's a good thing for Cesco ... hope it works.
