Any new Italian? In NY for one night.

I have been to Lupa and babbo. I loves both. But I am looking for any suggestions for great Italian. I know it's a big question but I am more looking for any new hip upscale Italian. Nothing quiet and boring. Thanks

Manzo is a new Italian restaurant owned by the Batali/Bastianich team.

and thus is the antithesis of "hip"...not to mention located in an Epcot-like foodcourt...

I'd second Locanda Verde. Good food, noisy hip atmosphere. It probably fits your bill the best of what's been suggested so far, with Maialino a close second.

It is, but I wouldn't really call it hip.

Scarpetta? Osteria Morini? Locanda Verde? All three are on the hipper side and will be loud/crowded.

Thanks kathryn. I was at scarpetta once and notices the menu to be very limited. How do the other places fare?

I don't think the Scarpetta menu is all that limited (but it doesn't change a whole lot from season to season), unless you're looking for a specific item?
