Favorite restaurants in Chinatown?
Looking for new spots to explore in Chinatown, and Mr. Swank and I eat very adventurously. Have enjoyed Peach Farm and Gourmet Dumpling, and also Hei Lei Moon. Not a fan of China Pearl or Chau Chau City. Love weird things, love Schezuan, love seafood. Thanks!

Just out of curiosity, where did you end up after your last post asking about chinese restaurants and what did you think? Thanks

New Shanghai is good for Sichuan (and pretty much your only real choice in Chinatown anyway). I would recommend Best Little Restaurant (Yat Ding Ho) as both a significant upgrade to Peach Farm and one of the best places to eat seafood.

We like Peach Farm, Winsor Dim Sum Cafe, New Shanghai and Hong Kong Eatery, depending on what we are in the market for.

I have always enjoyed East Ocean City, especially for seafood. They have tanks of live fish, crabs, etc. I love their geoduck clam. you get the sashimi portion first and then they deep fry the other parts of the clam. Both are delicious. For a splurge try the live King Crab. They wok fry it with salt and a chili pepper and the combination of the salt and pepper with the sweetness of the crab meat is excellent. It's messy to eat but well worth the effort. I have also always had good luck with any of their steamed fish preparations. Like a lot of other Chinese places it is best to go with a group of four or more so you can order a wider variety of dishes.

Pearl Villa is my favorite for seafood. Their scallops on the half shell are amazing and they do a pretty good seafood soup.

Pearl Villa is closed. In its place is another seafood spot called Gaga Seafood.

I am a hold out for "the Old Lion": Taiwan Cafe. Some say I got get out more but I recently carved thru the menu at JoJo Tapei and TC is head and shoulders. Go for Taiwanese Brunch.

Heh heh, me too. Lots of places have come and gone, but TC is still one of my all time favs in Chinatown. Just the Basil Eggplant alone is better than the competition, inside 495.
