Best Italian restaurant downtown?
Hi All,
I'm looking for a great, casual italian eatery in the downtown core.
Doesn't really matter the location as long as it's downtown.
Just want delicious food, nice atmosphere, not too fancy.
Thanks so much,
S

Thanks everyone for your replies! We decided to try out Buca.
I'll let you know how we liked it! :)-----

Buca is my favourite. Campagnolo and Enoteca Sociale are both decent, and a lot of people on the board seem to like Paese these days (never been myself).
Although it's unpopular, my #2 Italian in the city is Terroni. Consistently great pasta, reliable pizza, and they get the best burrata I've had anywhere.

re: miketoronto
I second Buca and Campagnolo. If you're looking for pasta/pizza, I probably wouldn't recommend Campagnolo though.
The bigoli (duck ragu) and eggplant parm are my favourite dishes at Buca - highly recommended!

I would add Tutti Matti to your list for consideration. Right downtown, not cheap but casual room and service style and IMO great Italian offerings.

Your old thread from last year is a good start:

Enoteca Sociale and Buca are the two I would add to the list.
