Argentina suggestions, anyone? Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, El Calafate & El Chalten

  • 3

I'm going to one of the best places in the world to eat, and there's nothing on chowhound ! I hope some of you all are as tardy as I am about posting here, and will do me and the other hungry people in Buenos Aires the favor of sharing your secrets. Especially places serving what you can only get in Argentina, off the radar of the international press and in the hearts of the locals - it's all good, diners, dives, street food, fancy and trendy.

Also I'm going south to Ushuaia, El Calafate & El Chalten.

Thanks!

  1. i'm ending my trip in buenos aires and found so many good places! my favorites were cumana, don julio, and then a few tiny sausage stands that were soooo good! those were my favorites. i found this website that has really good recommendations for restaurants that i used as my Argentina bible: http://pickupthefork.com/restaurant-g...

    1. I just posted my report back from BA. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/804770

Hopefully there are some useful recs for you in there!

      1. Not sure if you've gone yet, but one of the best meals I had in the whole country was in El Calafate at a parrilla called Don Pichon. It was off-the-hook amazing. For 150 pesos, get the parrllia completa, which includes veal, lamb, 2 different cuts of steak, chicken, chinchulines, chorizo sausage and blood sausage. All of it cooked perfectly, with friendly casual service. I want to go back to Patagonia just to go to that place again.
