I went to afe D'Alsace-right across street from my apt. Had great time with friends-an impromptu eve! the best times are never planned for.

Saturday dinner at Viand Coffee Shop in UWS. The staff stayed in the Beacon Hotel so they were open bright and early for Sunday breakfast as well.

Interesting account from an out of town newspaper reporter on vacation. Finding nothing open in Times Square she hopped a cab to Chinatown. While the stores were closed she reports "We make the best of it and find a little restaurant open. Nobody inside speaks English so we point to pictures on the menu and wind up with amazing soup and dumplings."

Went out of town (we live in Zone A) to Maplewood, NJ for dinner at Lorenas- wonderful French Resto. Would definitely return but without the major's demand next time : )
