Restaurants near St. Regis Princeville

I know there are some good restaurants (like Merriman and Plantation Gardens) near Popui area. But are there any good fine-dining restaurants and lunch spots near this hotel? I have a rental car but I would rather not drive >30-40 min to get something decent to eat.

The peripatetic Jean-Georges Vongerichten's Kauai Grill is at the St. Regis. I have not been and found no reports on this board; reviews elsewhere are mixed.

The Tavern by Roy Yamaguchi is probably the best, but Mediterranean Gourmet and Bar Acuda in Hanalei are not bad.

I would so go there if I went to Kauai. I got the neatest poster for it when I was dining there and went back into the office (@the original).
