Sacramento Restaurant pretty close to airport?

I'm driving up from the bay area to meet some folks right before they fly out of Sacramento.

Would love a good (not dressy), quiet restaurant somewhere pretty close to the airport so they can flyout right after a delicious lunch.

Up for any kind of food.

  1. Apart from small eating places within the airport, there are no restaurants near the airport for miles and miles around. Closest would be almost all the way to central Sacramento. Unless someone else has any ideas?

    1. Maybe try Tazzina Bistro in Woodland. It's about 10 miles west of the airport on I-5 and would be a quick shot back there.

      1. The food at Malabar is great! The seared ahi with coconut-macadamia nut rice cake is really is one of the best dishes in Sacramento. It is only 6. miles away on Del Paso Road.

I was hoping someone would make a recommendation like Malabar, and never imagined it would be only six miles from the airport. Thanks, Rex!

        2. We love cf cheng, probably the best Chinese restaurant in all of Sacto. It's kind of hole in the wall in a strip mall next to Arco. We usually order from the "Chinese" menu (not in Chinese, but if you are Chinese they give you this menu instead of the "regular" one. Request it.).

Natomas shouldn't be too far away from the airport, closer than Woodland I would imagine. CF Cheng has excellent food (and I agree, request the Chinese menu!), and Tuk Tuk does great Thai.

I've been to tuk tuk, it's ok, but feel Bangkok Garden is better. It's also in Natomas and it's food tastes better, a little more authentic, but it's "mom&pop" so service can be slow if you're in a hurry.

We ended up having lunch at Malabar which turned out perfectly. Easy to find, easy to get to the airport and broad general menu. Everyone found their food to be of high quality, though nothing extraordinary. My turkey sandwich was excellent with good bread. We arrvied at 11:30 and had a quiet meal. Would recommend for a business lunch.
