Fresh roasted Hatch chilies

at Fred's Texas Cafe in Ft. Worth today - still some left - 12 lbs for 20 bucks is a steal. Cool spot.

    I was at Colleyville's (not really a) Farmer's Market today and they had them for $3.99/lb!!! Unbelievable!!! The not-so-far-away Central Market has them for $2.79/lb and I thought that was high.

      Peeling and de-seeding them is as much fun as cleaning fish, but the job is done, freezer is well stocked, and my car still smells of chilies 2 days later!
