If you do not mind a short trip on 287....there are a few very authentic restaurants in Northvale, Norwood and Closter for claypots and soup bowls. If you like the braised Pork Belly or Sliced Pig Knuckles with all the daily Banchan...I suggest Spring @ 97 Homans Avenue in Closter..Soram in Norwood is very good from my experience as well.

First let me say that I am no expert on Korean foods, but I rate my suggestions based solely on quality of items prepared and the taste of the food. All of the places mentioned before and here are minimalistic at best, so decor is not factored in.
My friends own the Closter Driving Range, so the recommendations originally come from them. They say these places are where the Korean community bring their families.
The other places suggested are:
Homung Nangmyom Restaurant
For Korean BBQ:
Go Ba Woo Kalbi Korean Barbeque in Tappan
I haven't been to either of these two places in a while, but I enjoyed both when I was there.
In Closter, I believe Korea Palace has closed....but I have heard a small place called Hidori shows promise
