Brazen BBQ

I know this place opened almost 2 years ago, but I haven't been to it yet and am looking for CHers insight. I have heard good comments about it twice in the last week so I am intrigued. One of the people that mentioned it to me is a big BBQ guy and he was quite impressed with the pulled pork.

Anyone know if the meat is actually smoked or is it just finished on wood a la Phils?

      I think it finally opened in the last week or so.

      According to the website the meat is actually smoked. Restaurant seems to be more formal than Phils and priced accordingly. Would be interested to hear if it is actually any good. I'd love to find an alternative to Phils that is located reasonably close to University City. All of the "real" BBQ places that I read about are in east/north east county which is quite a drive for me.
