Blue Laws? & Best place to buy wine for hotel room near Inn at the Market?
From Wikipedia, it doesn't look like Washington has blue laws. Sunday wine purchases are OK?
Where should I buy wine to sip in the hotel room that is walking distance from Inn at the Market?
My favorite red is a Malbec, and my favorite white is Pinot Grigio. Any recommendations given that?
What regional wine do you especially like that is available for purchase now?

lol...I think you'll find that most west coasters will look at you funny if you mention "blue laws"....most of ua have never heard of such a thing out here. Of course, I think its funny to see ANY kind of law restricting alcohol, as in Nevada where I live you can purchase just about any spirit 24/7 at the corner market. But IIRC you can buy wine any day just about anywhere in Washington, although I think they stop selling late night.....

Yes, go to Pike and Western in the Market, just a few steps from your hotel. Michael Teer and his staff are experts on local wine, which is really from the Okanogan in Canada down through Oregon. I would try a Washington Syrah, Oregon Pinot Gris, WA or OR sauvignon blanc. I think the best wine of the region (red) is an Oregon pinor noir. ask for recommendations, at the store based on your price point.

There is a fine wine store in the market at Pike & Western (named that.) Also, upstairs at DeLaurenti - and you can get cheese and supplies to go with it. A bit more of a hike are The Spanish Table on Western, and sister store Paris Grocery. You can find wine and beer at grocery stores, but hard liquor only at state run liquor stores. There is also The Tasting Room in Post Alley for Wines of Washington.

The last time I was in Seattle I found the that the local corner/grocery store on 2nd Ave, near the Moore theater, had a better selection than my government store at home.
I have had great wine from the Yakima valley, Kestral and Silver Lake being two regular faves. Also Domaine St. Michelle makes a find Method Champange bubbley that might be perfect for a room sipper!
