Perhaps Hilltop Cafe Diner in Langley is more Guy's thing:

Or the pulled-pork pancakes and flatline burger at Hogshack Cookhouse:

I wonder how many places in Greater Vanc. provide that gluttony quotient typical of the places Guy visits on his shows ?

re: LotusRapper
Deacon's Corner would qualify. Don't know if they have enough interesting stuff, but their portion-sizes are serious business.
I just ate a place in SF that he visited called Dottie's. The portions weren't extreme, but the food was amazing. Chili-cheese cornbread with jalepeno jelly.....my mouth just started watering.

re: JEheartbreak
Interesting. I've found that the portion sizes at Deacon's have decreased substantially since opening as the prices went up. And when we ate at Dottie's I thought the portions were off puttingly large and the food just okay, even the vaunted corn bread. Off day, maybe, but I wouldn't wait in line for it again (not even the relatively short wait we had).

re: grayelf
Wow -- I didn't think my Dottie's breakfast was too big at all. I was staying around the corner from there last weekend and lined up @ 7:15 am for the 7:30 open. I didn't actually know it had appeared on his show until afterwards. I thought the cornbread was good -- but it needed the jelly to make it special, which I thought it was.

Dang !! The one day this week I had to be out in the 'burbs for work :-(
Any knowledge if he'll be at other places in town ?
Hope he hits the food trucks too.

re: vandan
I saw a tweet confirming he was at Peaceful. Now I suppose I'm going to have to start taping that show till the ep airs... to echo one of our stalwarts here, I hope he made it to the Argo. I've been three times in the last three weeks, and it qualifies for two of the Ds, in a good way :-).
