Map of Great CHICKEN joints in Montreal

Trying something here so it can become a referral thread that tourist and Montrealers can see on the map on the right side of the threads. It's called "Place Mentioned" with a google map pointing to the places.

New Instructions to map a restaurant:
Let's not have any discussions here and just name the place
by clicking the tab that says "Manage Your Links" section below your post area.

You can also use that mechanism to add a new restaurant to the chowhound database.

                COQ LA-LA

                CHICKEN on GAS grill.
Armenian or Lebanese style? Let's just say Med style

Like the Portuguese and some Lebanese this one is served in the butterfly shape

At this place the chicken is pre-cooked and finished on the gas grill but is verry tasty.

At Abu Elias, how do like your chicken done? They have it grilled on charcoal, rotisserie & also broasted(they have a broasted fried chicken machine?).

Still Laurier BBQ... best in city. Now carries the Gordon Ramsay association.

Now called "Laurier 1936", no more Gordon Ramsay association. Will the chicken remain the same?

definitely not the best chicken in the city. most expensive rotisserie chicken breast perhaps

Its not a "chicken joint" but the Chicken Shawarma at Chez Benny express is absolutely divine. The grilled meat cooked on a rotating spit with spices and the secret ingredient: Lamb fat on top that drips into the chicken.

It may cost twice as much as your typical pita, but you get twice as much meat and the condiments are homemade as well as delicious top notch. Completely different from your typical lebanese place.

Please do note that they are Kosher and therefore closed for jewish holidays. I'm knocked my head on the door a few times!

P.S. I don't know how related it is to Chez Benny and I haven't (yet) been to the "Original" Chez Benny to compare
