Are there any good Malaysian restaurants in Toronto (accessible via subway)?

  1. the roti cenai and pandan dessert is good at restoran malaysia....but I don't know of any others. The rest of the food is not particularly authentic tasting

But Restoran Malaysia is also a good 20min drive from the closest subway stop..

Sorry I would suggest something but the place I get laksa from is nowhere near a subway station either!

    2. The only place I can think of downtown is Matahari Grill on Baldwin. I've never been there, so can't attest to the quality, but there a lot of hounds on this board that like it.

I found matahari very underwhelming but it has been years since I lat tasted non-authentic andit really did not do justice to malaysian food.

Also they are aiming for more of a fine dining experience (their online menu is 1/3 food and 2/3 drinks) but the service level wasn't up to snuff.

There hasn't been a good Malaysian restaurant in Kensington since Sri-Malaysia departed. What I would give to find THOSE people again. Matahari Grill is a disappointment and an inhospitable one at that.

The better question would be, is there a good Malaysian restaurant anywhere within TTC range period.
