Best price for Tsingtao beer in the East Bay?

Our staff back to school party will have Chinese, so I wanted to provide Tsingtao as the beer. Does anyone in Berkeley/Oakland/Albany/Richmond carry it in decent quantities at a good price?

does that beer come in 12-packs ? for mass produced, commercial brews, Safeway runs regular specials on imported 12- packs. otherwise, you're probably going to run into a pretty standard lowest price in the places that buy and retail in huge quantities, like Safeway or Bevmo. a local brew that sometimes gets overlooked for how well suited it is for Asian foods (had it recently at the newly reopened Phnom Penh) is Anchor Steam -- probably close to Tsingtao in price and a much higher quality, fresher product.

      Bevmo has horrible beer prices!
      Full pop retail!

How much beer are you buying?
Unless you are buying 10 cases its hardly worth shopping around to save a $1 a sixpack.

      Best bet:

      Oakland Chinatown.

There are one or two markets that sell booze and beer...some of it at great prices.

One is in a newer building on 7th or 8th near Webster, just a block or two from the Trappist.

The front of the store faces the Bay.

      Anyone know the name?

Try the Asian supermarkets like 99 Ranch in Richmond.
