Dutchess County Fair - anyone been yet, anything new?
Hi all,
So hopefully we will get to the fair on Saturday if the weather holds up. Just wondering if anyone has been and seen anything new to eat. I can't even remember what I ended up having for lunch last year - I was all ready to try the roast beef sandwich after my boss raved about it and then found out the guy had retired and was replaced by someone new. I think I read some posts last year that the new guy was nothing special so I decided not to get one. I always end up walking in circles trying to decide what to choose and then in frustration, end up eating a panini from Pete's Famous (which is so close to my house I could eat it anytime) - pathetic!
I normally don't go the fried food route - something about it being hot and the guilt - I also like to try a dessert while I am there - I love the 4H shake but normally take a few sips from my husband's for a fix and then try to get something different.

I just went today...gorgeous weather. I had my old standby, cheese and potato pierogies. I did see a Vietnamese stand called Lemongrass Grill that served bahn mi sandwiches. I didn't get a chance to try one though (I ended up picking up some pad thai from Aroi on the way home). There was also a place called The Clam Shack that had a pretty long line. I'm always wary of seafood at venues like the fair though. The grilled corn is pretty good. I try to stay away from fried food too, so my options are pretty limited. The kids loved their foot long hot dogs and DH enjoyed his smoked pork chop sandwich.
