In LA for wedding for labor day weekend

We are a large group in LA (Universal City) for a wedding. Are there any GOOD restarants in the area that can accomodate group or 20 or 30.

ombra ristorante might close their restaurant for a group of thirty. right at the bottom of the hill on cahuenga (ventura) blvd. great italian, new, young chef. walkable.

raphaels further toward studio city has a nice private area that would accomodate your group. young chef, good resume, mixed menu, beautiful decor. need transportation to get to but local bus will take the lot of you.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations. We did make it to Ca Del Sole, we found the staff very accommodating but the food left something to be desired. We did find a really good place called Carnival, it was really good fooD and the owner chef was very accommodating... The cost of the food was too bad either. I'm sure most of you foodies know of this place for those that don't try it..... You won't Regret it....

Il Teramisu at Ventura and Woodman in Sherman Oaks is very good Italian and has a room that can accomodate your group. Family owned and very well done.

I don't know if they could really accommodate 20-30, but the Thai restaurants in North Hollywood are among the best in the country and fairly inexpensive. You can take the 170 up to Sherman Way, where there are a slew of great Thai places. My personal favorite is Krua Thai, which is just a few blocks west of the 170 exit.

Please define cuisines and price ranges that you're interested in...and if you all have access to cars or will have to rely on public transportation. Of course there are good restaurants that can accomodate large groups...you just need to be more specific.

We will all have cars. We all enjoy great food .... any cuisine ... doesn't have to be fancy... just great food... prices should be moderate....

While the meaning of "moderate" is a very flexible and imprecise term, depending on ones personal circumstances and normal dining choices, I would suggest you check out Ca 'Del Sole. Very close to where you are staying (5 minutes?) and it can accommodate groups your size with some prior arrangement (along with a very nice patio area). Good food if not great and service is nice as well.

Ca del Sole is a good pick. I know this may not seem like what you seek, but there are very good buffets at the Universal Hilton.

Check out D'Cache for Latin tapas (plus entertainment most nights)...also close by in Toluca Lake.

Another option (your group could probably take over the very nice patio if the owners want to do that?) would be Mantee Cafe for Mediterranean food. Be aware that they have their main entrance to the restaurant in the rear of the building where their parking lot is. The front entrance is sort of like going through the back door, with no one to greet you since they are all in the back on the patio.
