Visiting Pacific Beach - Need Grandmother friendly restaurant for night out w/o kids

We are on vacation in San Diego (Pacific Beach) and have a babysitter later this week so the grown ups can go to dinner. Can anyone recommend something that isn't too scene-y and loud (so G'ma can be part of the conversation), and has good food? We don't want to go too far from our rental as the kids will be with someone unfamiliar in an unfamiliar house.

Thanks!

I'm old enough to be a grandmother so I would be looking for a place with good food, good cocktails and good wine.

I would suggest the next beach town up, La Jolla..about 5-10 minutes but Tapenade has a nice sunset dinner menu and its quiet and the food is excellent.
You can have drinks at Tower23 in PB or Marine Room (score big with Grandma) in LJ before or after dinner drinks..oceanfront.

If you like Thai, Narraya on Garnet is a lovely place that would fit the bill. Some of the most gracious waitstaff in SD too.

While it could be close on the noise, the Fishery should fit the bill. They have a patio outside that is not as loud.

Co-signed. Great food, ez atmosphere, a little loud just because of the lack of acoustic remedies. No scene. Yum.
