Noticed a new kosher dairy establishment opened in the old Diamond Dairy spot on W. 47th Street off of 5th in NYC. Any hounds have the scoop?

The only positive thing it has in common with the original is the view of the exchange below. Otherwise, nothing chowish here. My experience was similar to ChefJohn's .

I dropped by for lunch two days ago and found the service to be terrible and line staff unusually uninformed. Who in NYC doesn't know what a nova sandwich is? What's so hard about "cream cheese on the side"? Oy.

What was your favorite thing to eat at Diamond Dairy? They made a rice pudding that was about a foot high, and it came with a warm cherry sauce-delicious!

Blintzes. No one does a good Blintz nowadays. Or Pirogen.

My fave was tuna LT on rye toast ....ice coffee....& topped off w/chocolate cheesecake
and no leaving off the ATTITUDE which only added flavor for the lunch chevreh

The old gang misses Mr. & Mrs. Adler !!

Whatever it is, it can never replicate the Diamond Dairy blintzes and its "hunky" ambiance.
